At the zoo, we reserved an educational backpack that focused on Texas wildlife. It included a disposable camera, a list of various wildlife in the different regions, binoculars, pre and post activities, and correlations to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. 
I enjoyed watching Sean stand in several different places before actually taking a picture. "If I stand here, I can only get the sign. If I stand here, then I can get the deer AND the sign, but if I stand over here, I can get all three". He'll use his pictures to create a book.

We spent a large portion of our time watching a very playful otter through this underwater window.
