Memorial Day

May has been a whirlwind of activity.  We've seen all the grandparents and great-grandparents at least once.  Sean's activities in choir, piano, and AWANAs wrapped up.  He played the piano beautifully last Sunday evening during the service.
We spent the weekend with Lee's side of the family in Northeast Texas.
Sean was able to venture off with his bb gun - which is a treat.
Kate loves her Daddy...

but not his whiskers.

Sean and Lee helped Lee's mother put flags on the gravesites of veterans.

Water Park

Last week was homeschool week at a local water park.
Lee took a day off work to go with us for the first time.
Sean has been talking about it for two years so he was
thrilled that Lee came. We, however, didn't realize the day we chose was the day after a cool front.
It was 57 degrees when we awoke.  Lee and I really wanted to do something other than water activities, but it turned out to be a great day.
Kate loved the water.

Enjoying her big toe

Sean having a hearty laugh in the wave pool.

Sand!?!
What a mess...but she and Sean were entertained.

Wish He'd Had A Camera

Lee was talking to a neighbor recently when a rabbit ran between them.
They continued talking.
The rabbit ran back between them, followed by a fox,
followed by a dog.
Sounded like a Dr. Seuss book...
but probably didn't end like one :)

Fingers

Early reader?
Nope, she just likes the sound her finger makes on the book.

Finger food and an Elvis collar

Kate is loving the freedom to feed herself.

Where did it go?

Family, Food, and FUN!

Since my cousin Amanda has moved nearby,
we've been able to see more relatives as they come to visit.
Last weekend, my cousin Leigh brought her three boys who are all about Sean's age. We grilled, swam, played horseshoes, etc. and ate and ate.

Thoughts for Thursday

Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18

I didn't have a sword picture, but I thought this would do.

From the Weekend

Sean stayed with a friend and his grandparents
and had the experience of fetching eggs from the hen house....he loved it.
Enjoying the sippy cup

Just a swinging

Kate and Lee hanging out while I shopped for
4th grade curriculum at the homeschool book fair in Arlington.
The usual leisurely two day experience was accomplished in 4.5 hours :)

Kate was dedicated at church today...Happy Mothers Day!

Six Flags Homeschool Day

Last Thursday was Homeschool Day at Six Flags.
We really have a great time.
Lee rode the "new" Texas Giant and gave it a thumbs up...best ride there.
 This picture made Lee laugh.
He was wondering who was having more fun.
I really was having a good time.  The tea cup ride was another story - I pretty much felt like I look in this picture.

8 Months Today!

And, Kate is off.  She has been crawling since the weekend.

Helping with laundry and putting away her 12 month clothes (crazy!)

Not walking yet but the girl is on the move.
Gone are the days of being on a quilt.

Lee was in Georgia all of last week so
he enjoyed holding her during one of her naps.
He was also thrilled that he came home to her saying "da-da".

Excited to be at Sean's last soccer game!
