A Beautiful Day

Lee took vacation this week.  On Monday, we went to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park in Glen Rose.
It was a beautiful day.

View from my window!
Feeding the giraffes was the highlight for all of us.

More from Fossil Rim

This giraffe was so much fun to watch.  It was like feeding a horse...sort of.  I kept thinking that as gentle as they are, they can also kill a lion with a swift kick.

Never feed an ostrich...we know this.  Lee thought it would be fun.  I didn't get any more pictures of this feeding because I was screaming.  Crazy birds...crazy husband.

Bluebonnets are Blooming

The bluebonnets in our front yard are blooming.

This picture makes me happy.  I can hear Sean laughing.

I believe Kate avoided eye contact with the camera in every shot :)

Boat Race

Sean's AWANA boat race was on Friday night.  For the Star Wars fans, he made Luke's landspeeder out of lego and put it on top of the boat and named it the Windspeeder.

He won the best design award for his boat.
As far as speed...it was little heavy and sank at the end of the race :)

Leave a Message Please

We just realized that for the past month our answering machine message had changed.  For several years, Sean's voice has been the message.  We had recently started receiving unusual messages along with the normal appointment reminders.  My mom had left one where she was laughing and talking to Kate.  Finally, a friend left a message that made me decide to go listen.   Remember...it has been a month.

The message was a whispered hello and breathing from Kate followed by muffled grown up voices followed by a loud protesting shriek followed by a click.  Nice.

Yesterday, a telemarketer called and assured me that she wasn't selling anything.  I had barely commented when I thought the phone had been struck by lightning because of a loud noise.  I hung up quickly and walked around the corner to see Sean taking the phone from Kate who was protesting loudly in the telemarketers ear...another click.  We awaited calls from the authorities :)

Today, at Kate's 18 month appointment, the nurse asked if Kate knew to say hello on the phone and I said "yes, yes she does" and left it at that.

Playing in the mud with Aubin

Kate enjoying dip for the first time.

Lots and lots of dip

but the same chip each time!
Needless to say, only Aubin enjoyed sharing the dip...the adults passed.

From the Week

We spent the first half of the week with my side of the family.

Thoughts for Thursday

Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being
renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
