Large...But Not In Charge

"How are you feeling?" is the question I am asked most frequently here lately.  The second is "When are you due?" and when I respond it is usually answered with "You don't look like you'll make it that long." :)  At 30 weeks, I'm feeling great...for the most part.  My ankles occassionaly disappear, I am indecisive, my fingers don't bend as well from the swelling, and on more than one occassion I have been VERY tempted to grab the frozen chicken out of my cart in the check out line and put it on my neck and face - pride stopped me, but just barely. Someone suggested purchasing frozen peas. However, the pool and a/c are my friend, and I'm so very thankful to complain about these minor things :)

From the Weekend

Last week, a college friend, Amie, passed away at age 39 after a long battle with cancer.  She married Lee's college roommate, Doug.  Lee and I traveled to her funeral this weekend so we could celebrate her life.  She had said she wanted to survive 5 years so that her son would be 7...and she did.  She also had an 11 year old daughter.  Amie was able to see both of her children baptized and also took a summer vacation with her family two weeks ago.  I found these pictures after I learned of her death.
Amie is second from the left - what a cool purple shirt I'm wearing.

A Halloween party - Amie was the Queen of Hearts, Jenny was someone off of Star Trek, Brent cooked the food, and I was Agent Orange - you can't see my badge and plastic orange gun :)

Doug and Amie's wedding shower hosted by college students - note the duct tape wrapping.

More from the Weekend

We stayed at Lee's mother's house over the weekend.
Lee and Sean built a platform by the pond for wildlife viewing, shooting the bb gun, and for fishing.
Sean showing me their finished work.

The view from the platform

Sean really wanted to shoot a catfish to eat but I thought he ought to wait until he had a fishing pole...
plus it was getting HOT!

Summer Shots

Here are some random summer shots...
