From the Past Couple of Weeks

We recently had the second phase of our deck completed.
I love the steps...we can walk on them without fear of falling through!

Last weekend was very relaxing.  It was my first weekend without Kate...ever, but we both survived :)  Lee was a trooper and took Sean and Kate to his mothers while I stayed home and had a girls weekend celebrating my friend Cari's birthday.

Sean is in his second week of school.  He has a much better teacher this year than last ;)  Both soccer and choir started this week.  Awanas and piano start soon.

Kate after her bath
She is wrapping up her 11 month and will be turning one soon.

Still working with her spoon

She hasn't quite mastered the spoon but she has mastered eating!

Thoughts for Thursday

My son, if you receive my words, and treasure
my commands within you,
so that you incline your ear to wisdom,
and apply your heart to understanding; yes,
if you cry out for discernment,

and lift up your voice for understanding,
if you seek her as silver,
and search for her as for hidden treasures;
then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.

Saturday's Show

Sean earned a free ticket to the circus by reading 25 hours during the summer library program.  He had been talking about it for weeks and wanting us all to go,etc.  My cousin offered to keep Kate, a friend purchased our tickets and we were off.  Sean kept saying "You know, it IS the greatest show on earth".  Well then, we must check it out.

Seven motorcyclists from the same family went around and around...not sure how they did it.
It looked really awesome and it was Sean's favorite thing.

A lady on a ball on a man's head on a wire...again not sure how they did it.

Two Russian brothers...won't repeat from above.

From the Week

We almost tied the record for most consecutive days of 100 degree temps.  However, yesterdsay we had a "cold" front that dropped the temperature 20 degrees...to 90!  It almost felt like fall :)

Baggie anyone?

Using her spoon for the first time

Her feet are always like this in the high chair.

She quickly tired of her spoon and used her hands and face.

Playing in the sand with Sean...have I mentioned that he is the best big brother?

Thought I'd Share

Sean turns 9 next month and this is his
birthday wish list that he gave me.
Can you tell what he wants to do?
We read My Side of the Mountain earlier and another book about a boy and an Indian boy surviving in the wilderness, and I guess he is ready to go do the same.  Salt and sugar are for seasoning his food, the filter kit is for water, and we think the sand is for flooring and the 14 bags of cottonballs for bedding.  I laughed out loud when I read the cottonball request.  I suppose the Legos are just something to do while living off the land.

11 Months Old

Kate turned 11 months old yesterday.
She is pulling up on everything and is letting go for just a second or two.

She is a climber.
She has the look in her eyes of always wanting to go a little higher.

Moving the pack-n- play in front of the piano was an accident,
but has worked out beautifully for keeping her entertained.
