Hammered

We've had a few interesting nights with wild weather.  Late Sunday, we received a pounding from golfball sized hail that lasted several minutes.  It sounded like a giant was outside playing the game "Whack A Mole" on our roof with a large hammer. Our vehicles and roof didn't fair well.  However, I was so thankful to live in a sturdy home.
This morning, I told Sean that he may not have a soccer game tonight if the weather didn't cooperate.  He replied in complete seriousness that the weather would be fine: "In all my 8 years, I've never experienced three days in a row of bad weather."  Funny kid.

Happy Easter!

First Egg Hunt

We had an egg hunt at church yesterday.
I didn't bring Kate a basket because I didn't know they'd have a section for babies :)
We borrowed a blue one from a friend.
She really enjoyed sitting on the grass and holding the eggs.

Thoughts for Thursday

Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus to the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.  They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head.

They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

Boatanical Gardens

On Thursday, we met up with Amanda and Aubin at the Botanical Gardens.  It was a gorgeous day.  Amanda took the top three pictures.

Sean was drawing a picture of the mallards and
journaling about being able to sit so close to them.

Kate and Aubin enjoying the picnic.

Aubin sneaking into the pudding :)

The Blue Angels were practicing while we were at the gardens.  On the way home, Sean, Kate and I pulled into a parking lot and just watched them.  It was very exciting to see all of their maneuvers.  Sean could barely contain himself.

Latest Field Trip

We went to the new Legoland Discovery Center
with our homeschool group yesterday.  Sean really enjoyed himself.
Sean with his friend Breck and Breck's family on one of the rides.

The master builder was very creative with a whole room filled with Dallas/Fort Worth buildings.

Kate enjoyed the legos too.  She kept wanting to gnaw on these big rubber pieces - gross!

On the Road

We spent all of last week accompanying Lee on a
thousand mile work trip throughout East Texas and Louisiana.
On Monday we started off very excited and happy to be going.
Late Friday evening we were saying that we would never do it again :)
While Lee did his thing, Sean, Kate, and I were able to see family and friends on the first part of the journey.
We were able to visit Cari and kids.  Mari was letting us know that their milk is yummy.

Sean and Kate in the hotel - it was SO much better than the last one we stayed in!

Sean throwing rocks in the lake - he looks very small.

Same stop as above but the view to the left

Our visit to the forest -
this was Sean's favorite spot.

Kate loved the sandy creek.

This Weekend

My cousin, Amanda, and her family have recently moved nearby.  We have been so excited to have them over to visit.  This weekend they came for Sean's soccer game.  He put on a show and scored 3 goals...it was great fun to watch him.

Sean as goalie - very focused.  I need to figure out how to bottle that up for school :)

Bluebonnets!

A portion of our front yard has bluebonnets again this year.
I couldn't decide which to post so I included several different pictures.  Kate is seven months old today.  Lee captured her attention while I was taking the pictures.  Sean continues to be a doting big brother.
