Pear Pickin' This Morning

We were invited to come pick pears this morning at our friend Melinda's home. The kids had such a fun time. I think they gathered all they could reach and then some.

Do boys ever tire of hearing how strong they are? :)

Pear Pickin'

What an enjoyable morning. When the kids were done picking pears, they started collecting butterflies. I think they caught 10 when it was time for us to head home.

Roundup Sunday

On Sunday, everyone was encouraged to dress in western wear to celebrate the change in Sunday School classes. Sean was excited about moving up to the second grade class.

Fun Friday

On Friday, Sean and I spent the afternoon at the zoo.
Sean spotted this softshell turtle from a bridge....it wasn't even in an exhibit.

I just thought this was a cool picture.

Thoughts for Thursday

I tell you the truth,
unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies,
it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

From the Weekend

We were able to spend Saturday and Sunday in the pool. Lee and I also watched "Marley and Me". I said I wasn't going to cry because I already knew it was going to be sad, but then I still bawled like a baby at the end. This week is the beginning of our fall routine - soccer, choir, and Awanas starts.
On Friday, we received much needed rain - 2 inches - in the morning.
We also said good-bye to the puppy. Before the puppy got in the truck to go home, it ran back to Sean.

Thoughts for Thursday

Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.

A Dream Come True

Last Thursday a friend called to see if we would watch their
15 week old puppy from Sunday to Friday of this week.
Ever since then, Sean has talked non-stop about the puppy.
He's been preparing our home, buying a toy, making things, etc.
When the puppy arrived, he said "This is a dream come true."
I reminded him that we had a dog and he said "I know, but this is a puppy." Sean is a great caretaker and has provided hours of energy expending activities for he and his new pal. Luckily she loves soccer and constant attention.

Thoughts for Thursday

The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him;the cords of his sin hold him fast.

He will die for lack of discipline,
led astray by his own great folly.

Thoughts for Thursday

For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
and let your glory be over all the earth.
