Thoughts for Thursday

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye
and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:3

What a Deal!

Our new t.v. stand was found at an estate sale for $30 - what a deal! Lee cleaned it up and voila. We're still in the process of taking the electronics off the top, but I'm thrilled with it.

That Would Be Great

Earlier today while Sean and I were in the backyard, he said
"Can you go get me the leaf blower?"
With a smile, I turned and looked him in the eye and said
"No, I cannot."
"What about the lawnmower?"
"No, I cannot."
And, as I was walking off I said somewhat sarcastically
"How about some knives and the chainsaw?"
He replied "The chainsaw would be great!"

Your love , O Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the

Last Weekend

Making cookies and practicing math Sean won a prize for his box during the homeschool Valentine's Party....best Christian-themed for his age group ("Love the Lord your God with all your heart"). He was elated.
A good time was had by all...

The rest of the weekend was spent with Lee's mom.
Sean enjoyed helping out in the yard. (And yes, those are earmuffs)

For the Mom and Teacher

I've come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It's my personal approach that creates the climate. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized.

Have You Ever...

Seen so many leaves!Reason #45 as to why I regularly see a chiropractor.
Luckily I was able to stand up and jump forward instead of fall backwards :)
My middle name should have been "Grace".

I spy with my little eye Sean's head....
Lee makes the most awesome leaf piles.
We are expecting strong winds so it should be gone today.
